University Hospital - McDuffie
There is also growth ahead in Thomson-McDuffie County with a new retail corridor anchored by the new University Hospital - McDuffie campus.
This new medical facility will be a state of the art 25 bed hospital that specializes in emergency, surgical, intensive, and general medical care. The location for the new hospital is on Hwy 78, just north of Interstate 20, and has great potential to become the newest retail corridor in the community. With the right retail development this area could see continued growth for many years to come. Thomson-McDuffie County has a regional draw for many reasons including a variety of local shops and boutiques, as well as a vast array of national brands. The land around the new Hospital is being developed into retail lots and is just waiting for the right developer and company.

Augusta, Ga, home of the Masters Golf Tournament, is only a 25 minute drive down I-20 and also offers theater, symphony, museums and a beautiful river walk.
