A name and a promise: Custom training for your team is provided through Georgia Quick Start, the nation’s top ranked workforce development program, working in collaboration with McDuffie’s local training partner, August Technical College, and your management and production team. Needs assessment, screening and training are comprehensive and meticulously customized to get your operations up and running fast and effectively.
Certified Work Ready: Another assurance of McDuffie quality: Skills run deep in our local workforce, as readiness begins well before high school graduation with new and strategically aligned career paths developed through the Georgia Archway Community program. Also, as a participating community in the Georgia Work Ready certification program, Thomson-McDuffie County introduces and upgrades skills at the high school level through the implementation of the ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness certification process. This nationally recognized program assesses worker skills in workplace documents, applied math and graphic literacy. WorkSource Georgia offers another key resource in assessing skills and closing skills gaps.
More pathways: After high school graduation, students can hone their skills and deepen their knowledge at the Thomson/McDuffie campus of Augusta Technical College, where programs leading to associate degrees, diplomas and/or certifications include cyber and digital education, industrial and engineering technology, business, allied health and nursing, arts and sciences, public services and more.
Skills to soar: Students come from all over the state for the top-flight airframe and powerplant training at the Augusta Technical College’s Aviation Technology Training Center, which offers five certified programs preparing graduates for the FAA testing required for A&P licensing. Located onsite at the Thomson airport, the Training Center offers a state-of-the-art learning experience for the aviation workforce.
